Harjumaa bus routes

Traveling on regional bus lines requires a paid ticket, but discounts apply for several passenger groups.

Discounts on public bus routes in Harju County

Passengers aged 0–19 years and 63 years and over travel free on regional buses. The right to travel for free on public bus routes in Harju County applies to everyone, regardless of their registered place of residence. The discount applies to all bus routes in Harju County with bus numbers between 100 and 191, except route 177 Tallinn-Keila, which is a commercial route. You can check which bus lines are commercial on the website www.pilet.ee, where commercial lines are marked with a K and public lines with an A. You can find Harju County bus lines HERE.

There are two ways to prove your right to use public transport:

1. The passenger owns a Tallinn – Harju County public transport card (or an equivalent card used in the ticket system), which is registered to their name. When boarding a bus, the passenger registers their journey on the ticket machine, the same way you would register a monthly ticket (i.e. validation on board). The system detects that the person belongs to the age range to whom a free ticket applies. It is important that your card is registered to your name!

2. If the passenger does not have such a card, the bus driver will issue them a free ticket. In this case, the driver has the right to ask for a document that proves the passenger is entitled to a free ticket.
